Eid al-Maulud, also known as Eid al-Mawlid or Mawlid an-Nabi, is a significant celebration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and is observed by Muslims worldwide.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared a public holiday today, September 5, 2025, to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad. It falls on the 12th day of Rabi’ al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Since the Islamic calendar is based on the moon, the date changes each year in the Gregorian calendar.
It is a time for Muslims to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings and values, as special prayers are held in mosques, family gatherings are held, and acts of charity are performed. Incognito blog wishes our Muslim readers a joyful Eid al-Maulud celebration.
