Ramadan 2026

Ramadan is the holy month of fasting observed by millions Muslims around the world. During Ramadan, Muslims abstain from eating, drinking, and sexual activity from dawn until sunset. This is done to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad. 

It is also a time of increased devotion and worship, as well as a time of charity and reflection. It is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam and lasts twenty-nine to thirty days, from the first sighting of the crescent moon to the next. This year’s start of Ramadan fall on February 18. 

At the end of Ramadan, Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr, a festival that marks the end of the fasting period, Eid is a time of celebration, gift-giving, and feasting.
