Eid el Maulud, also known as Eid-ul-Mawlid, is a significant celebration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and is observed by Muslims all over the world.
The Federal government of Nigeria has declared a public holiday today 25th August 2026, to commemorate the celebration of Eid-ul-Mawlid. It falls on the 12th day of Rabi’ al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Since the Islamic calendar is based on the moon, the date changes each year in the Gregorian calendar.
It is a time for Muslims to reflect on the prophet’s teachings and values as special prayers are held in mosques and acts of charity. Incognito blog wishes our Muslim readers a joyful Eid el Maulud celebration.
